My Love for Handloom Sarees

Saree has always been my favourite attire. Since childhood, I’ve been deeply attached to this graceful six-yard wonder. Growing up in a traditional Bengali joint family, surrounded by my mother, grandmother, and aunts—who wore sarees every day—I naturally fell in love with them.

For me, the purity, fabric, design, pattern, colour, and comfort of a saree mean everything. That’s why I’m extremely particular—what we Bengalis call “khut-khute.” My elder sister often jokes, “I’m scared to gift you a saree—you hardly like any!”

When I finally launched my long-cherished boutique, my foremost commitment was to never compromise on the purity and comfort of my products. From day one, I’ve sourced authentic Handloom Sarees from across India—directly from the weavers and certified weaving centres.

I know some may find the price of my sarees a bit on the higher side. But what’s often overlooked is the incredible effort and artistry our weavers pour into every piece. A single handwoven saree can take days—sometimes weeks—to craft, yet many artisans still don’t receive fair pay. This sad reality has forced many to abandon their craft altogether in recent years.

If this continues, we risk losing entire handloom clusters—and with them, a priceless part of India’s cultural heritage.

So here’s my humble request to every saree lover:
Even if you buy just one saree—whatever your budget—please choose a pure handloom saree. Support our weavers. Celebrate our roots. Take pride in Handloom Sarees—because they are not just clothing, they are our legacy.
